What kind of plastic bottles should be used in the Aquasafe unit ?
Aquasafe should be used with plastic bottles ( and not glass bottles).
Size: the bottles should be 1, 1,5 or 2 liters.
Colour : the bottles should be clear.
State: the bottles should not be too scratched
Type: the bottles should be made from PET, and not PVC.
Why are PET bottles preferable ? Because
- PET bottles are locally available in many places
- are cheap and durable
- contain fewer additives than PVC bottles
- have a good transmittance of UV-A radiation
